Marc Schmidt (1970) works as an independent director and location sound mixer of documentary films. After studies in filmtheory (Utrecht University) and media arts (Tilburg Art Academy), he initially worked as a sound engineer and video editor on a variety of film projects. He also directed a few short fiction films. But directing documentaries raised his interest, and gradually became his main occupation. The role of social codes in our lifes is a recurrent theme in his work.
