DOC ALLIANCE SELECTION // 2015

Since 2008, the Doc Alliance platform presents the Doc Alliance Selection Award. The award goes to the best European documentary film selected independently by each of the platform’s festival members. The individual festivals also nominate the representatives of the jury of experts, recruited among the film critics from the festival countries. Within the Doc Alliance Selection section, each of the Doc Alliance festivals screens at least 3 films nominated for the award in the given year. The 2015 winner was announced on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at the Locarno film festival in the presence of directors of film festivals associated with Doc Alliance, the jury members and film professionals. The winner - Abbas Fahdel with his film Homeland (Iraq Year Zero) received a financial prize of 5,000 EUR that is primarily intended to promote the author’s future filmmaking career.

He is one of many Congolese workers migrating eastward and establishing new trade routes, but things aren't as easy as they seem. Business aside, he also has to come to grips with loneliness. Although he tries, he doesn’t quite manage to fit in to the local expat community...

15 festivalově úspěšných dokumentů po celé ČR v roce 2016 díky projektu KineDok

V minulém roce proběhl pilotní ročník jedinečného mezinárodního projektu KineDok, který přináší projekce autorských dokumentů obohacené o debaty s tvůrci filmů a odborníky nebo jiný zajímavý doprovodný program. Institut dokumentárního filmu letos zve na dalších 15 evropských dokumentů a nabízí možnost site-specific promítání kromě ČR, Slovenska, Maďarska, Rumunska a Chorvatska nově i divákům v Polsku a Norsku. V České republice budou moci fanoušci autorského dokumentu navštívit během roku na 150 projekcí na nejméně 25 nejrůznějších místech a seznámit se se současnou českou a evropskou dokumentární tvorbou.

Mezinárodní projekt My Street Films vstupuje do třetího ročníku

Soutěž My Street Films, která vyzývá veřejnost k natáčení vlastních krátkých snímků ze svého okolí, zahajuje třetí ročník v ulicích střední Evropy. Projekt vznikl původně v Londýně, kde mapoval město nad Temží prostřednictvím filmových příběhů s tématem ulice a jejích obyvatel. Ve spolupráci s DAFilms.cz se online filmová mapa rozrostla do České republiky a odsud také na Slovensko, do Polska a Maďarska.
