Pero Kvesić was born 1950 in Zagreb and graduated in sociology and philosophy from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. He wrote of Omladinski tjednik, TLO and Studentski list. In 1977 he launched Polet, a magazine for young readers, and acted as its first editor-in-chief. He was editor-in-chief at Pitanja and in 1984 he launched the Quorum magazine and publications, publishing a large number of prose works. He published several poetry collections and several novels for children and picture books.
In 2007 and 2008 he was included in the Danish school curriculum as an obligatory read. In 1987, mentored by Dušan Vukotić, he prepared a series, writer’s concept and character concept of the animated serial The Little Flying Bears for Zagreb film. In the early 1970s, he wrote scripts for national television’s School Programme, and he is also the author of several TV dramas and documentary shows and films. He worked on the screenplay of the film The Melody Haunts My Memory and wrote screenplays for short animated films by Dušan Vukotić and Pavao Štalter. Since 2006 he has been writing the blog Čovjek-vadičep sreće ženu-ribu, and he publishes photographs of friends, acquaintances and random passers-by on his blog Bablfotograf.
Documentary film Dum spiro spero, his debut work as a film director, was awarded with Grand Prix at Croatian Film Days 2016.
