JIN Jiang was born in 1989 in Luoyang, Henan Province, China. He dropped out of high school and worked as a DJ and a sound engineer. In his leisure time, he creates modern art, including painting, photography, sculpture, installation, and performance art video. He held his solo art show 'Land of Hope' in Luoyang in 2013. In 2014, he began his filmmaking career as a cinematographer and editor. Shang' Ajia is JIN Jiang's directorial debut and a feature-length documentary.
