Luca Gennari was born in Ravenna (Italy) in 1976. After the degree in Communication Studies at the University of Bologna, he moved to Rome in 2000, where he graduated in Film Direction in Cinecittà and then began working as an assistant director in film productions. As a director he made documentaries and short films that have received several awards. His Super 8 short films have been screened in the most important international film festivals: “Those dreams that on the silent night intrude. The secret cinema of Jerzy Treblinka”, after winning a Kodak contest, premiered at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival and was then screened at festivals such as 2011 Slamdance Film Festival, Rushes Soho Shorts, Raindance, Cambridge Super8 Film Fest, Milan Film Festival; the short documentary "It's gonna rain" premiered at Sheffield Doc/Fest. His latest short film “Le Tette di una Diciottenne” (The Tits on an Eighteen-‐Year-‐Old) has been so far selected in more than 40 festivals and won a dozen awards, including best editing in Visioni Italiane, best actor in Cinemavvenire, special mention for the best short film in New York and San Francisco.
